The art of Raphia

Raffia is a vegetable fiber that comes from an endemic palm tree from Madagascar; The fiber is very resistant and allows multiple weaving games as well as subtle shades of color.
It is in our workshop in Essaouira, that women weave with the same gestures as more than 100 years ago, the raffia of Madagascar, a material with a raw aspect which is supple and comfortable.
